The job search process can feel overwhelming, and at times, isolating. That’s where the Tri-Valley Career Center (TVCC) comes in. As a trusted resource for thousands of job seekers, we offer the guidance, tools, and support you need to successfully transition from one opportunity to the next no matter your field or experience level.
Here, you’ll become part of a dynamic community of individuals who share a common goal: finding meaningful, well-paying employment. Our team of dedicated and experienced professionals are here to support you every step of the way.
At TVCC, you’ll have access to a wide range of free resources designed to help you connect with employers, build your skills, create a network with fellow job seekers, and move your job search forward.
Some resources we offer are:
- One-on-One Career Counseling: Meet individually with our experienced career counselors, mentors, and job development professionals who will help guide you toward success. To access this service, you will first need to attend one of our Orientation sessions.
- Workshops: We host a variety of workshops at the Career Center and throughout the Tri-Valley every week. Our topics are focused on helping you succeed in today’s job market. Visit our Calendar page to see our monthly workshop schedule.
- Tip Sheets: Gain access to more than 20 downloadable Tip Sheets covering strategies for all stages of the job search. and a bi-monthly newsletter with additional tips and guidance.
- Newsletters: Stay informed and connected by signing up for our monthly newsletter, featuring updates on upcoming events, job seeker services, and hiring opportunities.
- Job Clubs: Job Clubs are a proven way to stay motivated, share leads, and connect with fellow job seekers. Our Job Clubs meet weekly, and all are welcome to attend.
- Work Space: Take advantage of our on-site workspace, equipped with computers, internet access, Wi-Fi, and printers. If you need a space to work, we offer an ideal environment for focusing on your job search and networking with others.
- Hiring Events: The BEST way to find a job in today’s market is by interacting with others through networking. Networking is one of the most effective and proven ways to land a job. Our free hiring events give you the opportunity to meet employers and hiring managers in person. Check our Events page for upcoming opportunities and information.
- Typing Tests: We offer certified typing tests to help strengthen your resume or apply to a job. The 5-minute test costs $15 and takes about 30 minutes total. It calculates gross and net speed, gross and net keystrokes, number of errors, and percentage of errors. You can take the test up to 5 times, and your best score will be used for certification.
No appointment is necessary, just stop by during business hours Monday-Thursday. - Employer Connections: Our extensive network includes hundreds of local employers. We provide direct referrals, host hiring events, and offer resources to help you build and expand your professional network.
- Training/Education: Looking to upgrade your skills to land your next interview?
TVCC may be able to help fund short-term training opportunities through our limited federal resources.
Learn more about WIOA funding opportunities by attending one of our Career Pivoting and WIOA-Funded Training Workshops. We also partner with organizations that offer low- or no-cost training programs.
